lyrics

Breathe in deeply, you almost fell asleep. Its taking everything you have to stay awake. The 5 is empty, your eyelids gettin heavy. Don't remember which exit you have to take? And now its four in the morning, your engine light is warning you of everything that you have at stake. Because the script you've been writing has sent you into hiding. It's been days and you're still on your second page.
All you wanted was to catch a break. All you needed was to get away for a few days. You've got a gift so take it. You know your gonna make - it'd a shame if you just le t it go to waste. And when you're rich and famous you better never blame us for the blatant exploitation of your name. You wanted stories so you made em up. You needed stories so you made em all up. Don't throw that away.
Lights, camera, action potential. This neuron network has no regard for rendered pixels. If final cut were a game, it'd be an RPG and you'd be MVP for scoring your fame. Breathe in deeply, you almost fell asleep. Its taking everything you have to stay awake. When you came out of hiding the morning sun was rising, keep your fingers crossed for that big break. So when the story boards have washed away and the city lights have started to fade, don't give the ending away. The things we create exist so that we can't back down. Breath in deeply as time is slowly through the cracks of every passing day. And when your clock stops ticking, the bass drum quits its kicking. Who will read the epitaph above your grave?
"Here lies a man who made it, who stormed the gates and waited for the perfect time to strike and stake his claim. He had a dream so he chased it. His friends will sing his praises, how he never let one second go to waste." And the world won't forget your name. Yeah, the world will remember your name.
